Raber Public Library holds dinner and silent auction

EAST LANSING (June 12)--To honor its staff, Raber Public Library will host a dinner and silent auction for all members of the community July 19 from 7:30-10:30 p.m. in the library.
The library would like to pay tribute to the hard work of its staff for helping homeless library patrons and the community and honor members of the community involved int he library with a black-tie dinner and silent auction.

The Raber Public Library continues its efforts toard helping the homeless community. Librarians handed out 75 community services cards with locations of local shelters and job services in 2005 and the number doubled to 150 in 2006.
The library provides a wide selection of books, free computer classes and a media reference wing. The library welcomes all members of the community to its resources and each of the library-sponsored events.
Librarians and local women involved in a local knitting group donate knitted items, like hats and mittens, to a box in the library. Children can take the items if they do not have any for the winter.
